G I R L
Pharrell Williams, our modern-day “Mad Hatter”, has released his sophomore album G I R L this past Monday.
I’ve been following Pharrell since I can remember his involvement with the Neptues producing tracks for Jay Z, Noreaga, Natasha Ramos, and including his own group, N*E*R*D Pharrell’s production discography spans back as far as 1992, giving you an idea how long Mr. Williams has been under the radar and the experience he has acquired through the years.
Pharrell’s latest work has any and every device capable of playing music in my apartment with the volume on max and the album on repeat. When you create tracks that serve as a natural antidepressant there is no way you can deny G I R L, and yes I am referring to Happy.
The recent trend of collaboration between Daft Punk and Pharrell continues on Gust Of Wind that I have to say is my favorite track on the album. It’s powerful, moving, and I can’t help but to keep it on constant spin. Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake contribute to the album taking nothing away from the experience, but adding to it.
Track List:
1. “Marilyn Monroe”
2. “Brand New” (featuring Justin Timberlake)
3. “Hunter”
4. “Gush”
5. “Happy”
6. “Come Get It” (featuring Miley Cyrus)
7. “Dust Of Wind” (featuring Daft Punk)
8. “Lost Queen”
9. “Freq”
10. “I Know Who You Are” (featuring Alicia Keys)
11. “It Girl”
Below I’ll leave you with another personal favorite of mine, another Daft Punk/Pharrell piece, enjoy:
